    totally agree!

you can go for a club cue too, it's also a cue with tip and ferrule, that's your choice.

I'm not complaining, what have I to complain about? I'm just pointing out that there are alternatives for a lot cheaper.

Also to all these people going on about comparing Rolex to Casio, or Mercedes to Lada how is this appropriate to ash! Wood is wood, you can't do anything to make it better than the same materials being used by another cue maker. Its a nice twist to try and make out that certain cues are better than others but that is down to the person using it more than anything else.

As has been mentioned so many times, Hendry, Doherty, Williams all won countless tournaments and all world champions with very cheap cues. Facts are simple to me, if you want to pay more for a supposed better quality cue because it has a badge/label on it fair enough but a wise player would shop around, don't get taken in by spiel and save yourself a bit of money by trying out a cue at somewhere like Craftsman with a good choice of cues and a table to try them on at your leisure. SIMPLES.

OK, you say wood is wood, then why do people pay 50 pounds upwards for designer jeans when my 4 pound tesco pair work just as well? Denim is Denim!!! My jeans are actually made of thicker denim than a lot of the designer pairs as well, and last longer...
If you had a good product and people are willing to pay £10,000 for it, why would you sell it for £4.50? I personally think cues represent good value, they hold thier value well and they are a lot cheaper than the price of some american cues.

again its comparing something totally different, you wear a pair of jeans so again its not really viable to compare it to cues and wood.
Put simply most cue makers who do the job as a living will be using almost the same wood as each other. All wood is imported from the same regions of the world therefore whilst sometimes the quality might vary its all going to be roughly the same quality to produce cues with. Apart from cheapo chinese rubbish most British cue makers use quality seasoned wood so that is why I say you cannot compare such things as cars and watches because its completely irrelevant and frankly smacks of desperation to defend your corner.

Again and this is my last word on the subject, the good thing is people have choices but it seems to be a snobbery when it comes to cues on here because unless you are using a cue that cost you over £250 people think that anything less and you are getting rubbish which is completely unfair and untrue.

I dont really see the difference between high end jeans and high end cues.... your saying my 160 pound welsh pool cue works just as well as a 750 pound mike wooldridge one, i would agree with you, but your buying the lable, the maker and the love thats gone into the cue. My 4 pound tesco jeans work just as well as my sisters 60 pound jeans.. but she still refuses to buy tesco value jeans.

I know doesnt fit that well but surely you get my point???

to say wood is wood and one cue cant be better than another is rubbish, ive owned plenty in my time and i can tell you they are not all the same! and it isnt only down to materials used its how its put together, you sound like the type of bloke who has his trolley full of value food at tesco rather than spend that little bit extra for a bit more quality lol
