Badge does look high and funny.
It is very like one of John's limited editions though.
Just checked and it's still on the site.
Do dunns use that red glue because it's got that on it's splices.
Someone be brave and mail em
sales@parris-cues.co.uk
I know ADR147 has rang to confirm before they don't mind!

check out this close up of the splice work on the cue, its way too far out to be a parris the more i look at it the more its a dunns cue, i also emailed him and told him i thought it was a 50 quid dunns cue with a parris badge , and he told me it was deffo a parris but cant produce a reciept ,,,,the sale stinks
check out this close up http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...ayphotohosting

I'm surprised ebay have done nothing as yet, last time i reported a suspected fake it was kicked off the next day.
I dont want to say in public case the sale is a con but If any member off the forum (someone whose nick i recognise thus most likely not the seller) were to pm me I'll tell them how to suss if it's genuine or not without cost.

Can't say for sure whether its fake or not, you know me, I'd never buy any cue off Ebay. However Parris have changed their font, did so over a year or so ago in fact. My mate had a Traditional cue made last year and comparing it to mine it was the first thing I noticed. Anyway, badge looks real enough to me but that is still no guarantee on the authenticity of any cue.

He's been asked what I would say is the way to prove it (see the q+a on the ebay ad) and although he said he would not take it to JP i'm sure he would post it so i'm of the opinion now its a genuine one.
Not as good as a Chinese Dunns though, look at the uneven pattern near the splices, at least the chinese get them even.

The only way is to get it in JP's hands and send jp the readies let him verify it and pay the guy then post it on to you.

Yes basically. Cant see why JP or any cuemaker would say no really if you bung em a bit for their trouble or as is more likely you want the cue altered to your own spec. I did it that way with the TWhite cue i bought off the guy floggin it here on the TSF who lived near Trevor and with the Tombstone I bought after the ebay auction ended without it meeting it's reserve fom the guy who had it straightened by Keith (neither one to one straight sale gave me any security as i would have had via ebay/paypal but this way they were verified genuine and in the hands of the right guy to do the altering.)

I am 100% sure that cue is not from Dunns........looked at the veneer its not theirs.
The badge looks extremely dodgy to me on the ebay's site, but the cue itself looks an old cue from JP to me and also one of those made early when their craftsmanship was not as good, such as uneven splices etc.......
But purple glue looks ok of JPs. For new JP cues, the purple glue will not shows up until a year later or so. So i do not think the cue is 4 months old, but could be genuine.Last edited by Cue; 6 August 2008, 12:03 PM.

I was also under the impression that Parris cues have got worse not better in regard splices being even etc!
