And Maflin has lost his Tour Card . Clearly too much pressure for him in the end .
Would have expected a far closer game , off table pressures not helping either I would assume .
Still trying to pot as many balls as i can !

    • By my reckoning , these are the players who have been relegated and will have to enter q school to regain their place on tour :

Michael holt , kurt maflin , martin o donnell , sunny akani , ashley carty , rory mcleod , fergal o brien , steven hallworth , lukas kleckers , zhao jianbo , ben hancorn , lee walker , peter devlin , aaron hill , farak ajaib , jamie wilson , zak surety , iulian boiko , sean maddocks .

Stuart carrington needs some players ranked below him not to qualify for the crucible to keep his tour card , in particular he needs cao yupeng to lose to robert milkins today or for yupeng to lose to saengkham / wells on judgement day or allan taylor to lose to scott donaldson tomorrow or for taylor to lose in the crucible first round.

      • And most people would have expected Ricky Walden to be at Sheffield this year . Thats a fairly long tough list posted by trains

Ah didn't know Maflin was under that extra pressure, it really is brutal for some of these players, the pressure must be immense.
This is how you play darts ,MVG two nines in the same match!

          • That's quite a few familiar names gone from the tour. Some of them were playing even before I started following snooker seriously.

            • Meanwhile Graeme fires a nice 147 followed by another century to win 6:1...

Well done Wee Dotty. 10k for 147. 15k for highest break. 15k guaranteed prize money. 40k should buy him box at Ibrox.

                • only his second maximum in professional play, I thought he had a couple already

Andy Yates joins four other referees in joint second place with 7 maximums to their names.
Only Brendan Moore has more at 9

Is that confirmed ? i’ve been basing my reckonings on the provisional end of season list on snooker.org , my deduction is cao yupeng has to qualify for the crucible to knock carrington out of the 64 , for ursenbacher to get relegated , as well as yupeng qualifying , matthew stevens needs to beat sam craigie this evening plus any combo of ashley hugill , allan taylor and gao yang making the crucible last 16 , possible but a lot to play yet to get that far.

                          • the milkmans on a 147 , ahh missed black on 73 , does anyone know what cao yupeng was upset about earlier when the ref had a word with him and he slightly banged the table , was it about a free ball not been given ?

                              • I've watched both Lichtenberg and Yuan today. I have no idea how Lichtenberg has a higher ranking. That was one of the worst "performances" I've ever seen in a professional event. I think half of you who are amateur players could have done better. Yuan, on the other hand looks like a top 30 player. He still hasn't beaten Day, but the talent is definitely there. I'm afraid that the European guys, other than Brecel, have a long way to go to even dream of being top 16 players.
