its a good idea altho how can 3 quid per session be cheaper than 5 quid per day.. wheres my big calculator. also no video stream can be better than the live action but for those outside the uk its a grea thing, personally i would pay to watch selected sessions.

You are spot on and the online streaming if not backed up by advertising should be paid for but you get websites like cuesport.tv that charge by the month for a subscription even if it is only one two matches in the month that you want to see and the quality is crap, no commentary and all the other stuff in the subscription is pool. If i want to watch pool i will go down rileys in Newport and do that for free and have a cool beer at the same time.

as for 110sport.tv good thing what they are going but the cost is stupid it should be more like £5 a event after all it is only web streaming, they are going to be using static cameras, it is not going to cost £100,000 (sorry i am still on the floor form that comment) to turn web cam 1 and 2 on when snooker starts and turn off web cam 1 and 2 when snooker finishes unless they have the worlds most expensive monkey working for them.

See Google Video for the stuff our MS Watkinks put out a few years ago, shame she did not continue with it.

i do think £2.99 per session is a bit steep when you look at what Eurosport player charge for a year of sports.....£34.99 for a year or £3.99 for a month.

i dont expect them to follow that but £1.99 for 1 session £2.99 for a 2 session day or £4.00 for 3 sessions per day would be better..

Considering there are only two sessions a day it therefore is 98p more expensive to watch it at home than at Pontins. Then add in the costs of accomadation and travel then whats the better deal?

Well the step from free coverage to 3 pounds a session is a big one, to say the least.

I understand they need to make a profit but I think they have shot themselves in the foot by setting the price tag way too high. If a ticket at prestatyn is, say, £5 a match, a cheapish web stream coverage production should be £1 - at the very most.

What interests me - this stream will be available outside UK or not?

hege, ticket at Prestatyn is 5 pounds a day. So if there is 2 sessions a day, it is cheaper watching it there live (of course, not taking account of travel fees).
What we don't know - is the quality of streaming, and I don't think they will do it in HD... The other thing - will there be geographic limitations for viewers. It is written on their website that the TV is launched in UK and Far East, what exactly could that mean?

Would be interesting to see it working indeed, although at this price I would seriously consider which and how many matches I would like to watch at the qualifiers. Still, it is cheaper than to go there, but then I have been at the qualifiers before (at the EISS), enjoyed the atmosphere there and I certainly want to go there again...

Exactly. Especially when you can watch the whole day for £5 when you attend in person.

A big step forward to have the option available though. But the pricing is way out. Should be something more like £10 for the whole event.

My thoughts exactly. It would be much better, you wouldn't have to pay each session separately and I think it would attract more viewers.

mate isnt it worth it for 98p more to just get out of bed on a boring day and click on a website and a can in hand without a 3 hour car trip and sitting behind a 7 foot giant on uncomfychairs ???????
