If he Wanted to WIN.....Why Gamble on Something he didn't Need to?

As he was right behind the Black... He would pot that 10 million times out of 10 million times Pushing it in.

But No I Dragged the White Before it Hit the Black!....And Played it to Near Right Jaw.....

Doesn't matter who tries to tell me that Wasn't Delibrate I wont listen as I was a Very Good player myself and wouldn't do that in Any Tourny or Match!

And remember at the World Championships, from O'Sullivan's perspective, 147 = Bentley.
That couple of years ago sounds like today's... did he win it?

I hope you're right about WC. Though going for 147 means more risk to lose the frame... Hope he figures the more frames he'll play, the more chances to attempt 147 = a motivation to get to the next round

And about advertising deal in China - woudn't it make more sence to do well there to have more chances to get the next advertising deal too?
Or playing exhibition instead of a match is more attractive to sponsors over there?

Lucky you. Me really envious today. And when Higgins loses, at least you can be pretty sure he did go for a win. I can't get to like the style in which Higgins plays, though it suddenly is pretty nicely watchable when he is playing some serious opposition.

... plus he won't break your heart like Ronnie can.
Being a ROS fan isn't unlike my last marriage to a beautiful and talented bi-polar bear.

Maybe you did make the best choice for you mate...
so this song goes out to you & John...

        If You Wanna Be Happy
        Jimmy Soul

        If you wanna be happy
For the rest of your life,
Never make a pretty woman your wife,
So from my personal point of view,
Get an ugly girl to marry you.

A pretty woman makes her husband look small
And very often causes his downfall.
As soon as he marries her
        Then she starts to do
The things that will break his heart.
But if you make an ugly woman your wife,
You'll be happy for the rest of your life,
An ugly woman cooks her meals on time,
She'll always give you peace of mind.

        Don't let your friends say
        You have no taste,
        Go ahead and marry anyway,
        Though her face is ugly,
        Her eyes don't match,
Take it from me she's a better catch.

        Say man.
        Hey baby.
Saw your wife the other day.
        Yeah?
        Yeah, she's ugly.
Yeah, she's ugly but she sure can cook.
        Yeah?. Okay.

        =o)

Anyways, he gave us all, once again, something to think about.
Typical Ronnie leads us to another dark hole

I'm sure Barry Hearn enjoyed that final black

All in all, I don't think that he tried to miss the black, but his mindset was so cloudy that even he himself couldn't believe that he missed it. I'm not trying to investigate his mentality, however. I already know how it feels so boring to do something, at a random time, and whatever it is that I'm doing, I usually tend to stop all my physical activity to get my brain going again, perhaps this is what Ronnie is doing as well, and caused him to cue the final black in a ridiculous way..

That is hardly on the cushion
No comment on Ronnie's motives... but go to the link above at 3:56; and the link to Ronnie's miss (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XjgU0J7QQg4) at 0:14.
The white is actually nearer the cushion for Ronnie's shot, but the pot is straighter.

Anyone remember Drago missing a straight black for the match in a World Championship 1st round? Think it must have been 1997 (v Dale).

Here's press conference. Well at least he doesn't look too happy.

Maybe more weeks for training, less match practice would not be in favor for him... He said he arrived on friday, so had enough of time do deal with jetlag, but being prepared didn't help much.

@ gazza147: at the end he comments on the last shot, saying it was maybe the table too.

That's exactly why he should've hit it harder. If he thought the table rolls off then why not to hit it harder so the effect of table conditions would be minimazed. Unless he wanted to gamble We'll never know...

You don't play a final black like that unless the frame is already won, i believe i played it just how he wanted it...end of match.

You know that would be quite an explanation to Ronnie's *inconsistency* over the years

ok, after i've seen the match, i really didn't think that ronnie lost on purpose, but... after i've seen the post match press conference, it's too damn obvious that he lost cause he wanted too. cause that was not the face and words of Ronnie O'Sullivan after he has been beaten in snooker couple of minutes ago, no way! there's something strange going on, it's too fckn obvious (sorry for swearing but i'm really upset)! i think that there might be some revenge of Ronnie's adressed to Barry Hearn in some way...don't know why but i just got that feeling!
...cue is our weapon, and we know how to kill...

Did anybody else think Ronnie looked a mess at the press conference? I do hope he is not suffering mentally again although he said he felt quite relaxed. Anybody who has suffered from depression or such like must surely sympathise.
