  • It will be highly interesting now if Murphy is able to turn this match around.

    • Between 2002 and 2015 Murphy had an impressive record of 26-12 at the crucible. If he loses this match today he is just 2-5 over the last five years.

      • He also isn't lucky at all...

        • At 3-8 now I don't see Murphy coming back.

Yes, he needs almost a miracle to turn this around.

            • I see Shaun Murphy is wearing a black armband in memory Of Brandon Parker his coach, Tatiana Woollaston was also wearing a black armband when refereeing the match between Kurt Maflin and David Gilbert, not sure if that was in memory of Brandon or someone else like a friend, colleague or relation of Tatiana.
Ronnie O' Sullivan seven times the record breaking Snooker Master

All referees are wearing that black armband in memory of Brandon Parker.

I also think the loss of his close friend might be a huge handicap for Murphy this year. I imagine that this still affects him strongly mentally.

                • No way Shaun is coming back from this...has all the shots, but always lacks that determined kind of confidence when trailing, that's Shaun.

Quite a start in the other match... three consecutive centuries and a frame Jamie Clarke needed three snookers to win and won it.

I was expecting him to come off the top cushion and nestle up against it, a tough shot yes, but the white was a few inches off the baulk cushion so not as tough as the pot, I'd have thought. I played it perfectly from my armchair anyway.

What a great start for Jamie in his crucible debut. Making a 136, which is his highest break ever and than this terrific steal. Last player to win a frame at the crucible after requiring 3 or more snooker was Peter Ebdon in 2017 vs. Stuart Bingham.

                      Clarke now 3-2 ahead.

You are not alone. I have excellent broadband and eurosport player is the only service which is constantly freezing, jumping and buffering. They did improve it last year, but they're back to their old ways again unfortunately.
Don't bother writing to them to complain, they have a strict policy of ignorance, surpassed only by the BBC.

I think everybody who qualified for the Main Draw here received a tour card.

Saengkham is through. The third Thai after Wattana and Poomjaeng to get to the 2nd round of the World Championship.
