I actually agree mate, besides Ronnie he's looked the most relaxed of any player.
I guess the relief of retaining his tour card, knowing this payout will pay for all his travel/hotel stays next season or 2 must take the pressure off, good luck to the lad.

Must say JC's cue action is beautiful.

        • Maguire in trouble... the top half of the draw was already looking very light.

          • Please paste any live streams if available for MJW v Stuart.

ihavevirus and the link where we have to change the last digit are unfortunately not streaming snooker now.

                    • No problem.

Great win for Martin Gould, great comments after the match, too... shame Mags messed up the max, though

edit: since they moved live coverage to redbutton now - hola vpn + https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/live/snooker/50283597 works for me, you need to register, though

                      • Didn't see the Gould - Maguire match, but sad that Stephen was defeated so heavily. Always when he gives you a glimpse of hope and think, well now he has made it a step further, he immediately gones one step back as well.
But this was always a tricky first rounder. Gould of course can play very, very well and pot amazingly - for a limited period of time at least. But he also can give leads away as we most famously saw in the 2010 World Championship against Neil Robertson. On the other side Maguire was never very good at coming back as he most of the time is dominated by frustration then.

Close starts in the first two second round matches and I expect them to stay that way. Especially Maflin vs. Higgins. With Williams in the other match you never really know. So often he shifts a gear up or down. The way he played after the interval yesterday I thought he would get to a 6-2 lead.

                        • The two other matches that start today:

                          Selby - Saengkham:
Well, Selby will have to play better than against Brown. I could very well sense an upset here. Expect this one to be neck-to-neck most of the time.

                          Trump - Yan:
I can imagine this being close as well, but it could also be Trump running away with a strong start. I still have the feeling that for the top guys Yan lacks the firepower most of the time - though he obviously can challenge them in the odd match.

                            • Selby looks more focussed early on in this match than in the first round.

Indeed. It will be interesting to see how he holds his nerves, when he gets closer to the finish line.
